Celebrating holidays and birthdays at the office is important not just because it’s a holiday, but because it makes your employees happier and more productive if they have fun together at work on occasion. It just makes your company feel like a better place to work!
So then, how are you going to celebrate Halloween at the office? Here are a few suggestions to get you started.
- Have a Halloween office party. You should definitely celebrate Halloween with an office party, even if it’s nothing more than a reason to sit around and get drunk with your co-workers. Plan some fun stuff, perhaps some things that most people won’t have done since they were kids, such as bobbing for apples or trick-or-treating.
- Have a costume contest. People enjoy dressing up for Halloween, especially when there is some kind of incentive — perhaps an extra half day or day of personal leave for the winner, or candy baskets or mini pumpkins for all participants. You’re sure to see a spook-tacular array of women’s costumes, Halloween wigs, and sexy adult costumes!
- Have a decorating contest. Have each person decorate their cubicle, or give everyone a different part of the office to decorate. You could have them decorate by themselves or in teams. Reward participation and the best decorations!
