I love ankle tattoos and lower back tattoos.  I think that they are the best places to get a tattoo.  I also think that you shoulder is a good place too.  I have tattoos in all three places.  I like these areas because of the ability to show them off, as well as the knowledge that as I age, these places are unlikely to change while my body ages.    That is something I think is important to think about!  Too many other places on your body can start to sag and that will really mess up what could be a beautiful piece of artwork.  A lot of thought and ideas go into choosing and creating a tattoo. 

For me the choice was based on what really meant a lot to me.  I wanted it to be something beautiful and whimsical.  The colors had to be just right.  I choose the three that I wanted and have been very happy with the choices that I have made.  I got these tattoos over 5 years ago and I am planning on getting more this year.  I think that if you find something that you like to do, why not keep on creating the art to promote yourself and your ideals and allow others to enjoy it by using your body as the canvas?
