I am so excited!!  My very first credit card came in the mail today.  It has my name on it and everything.  I don’t have a very good limit (at all) but I am ludicrously excited.  It’s like the first step to becoming an adult, and though everyone tells me that I really shouldn’t rush that along, I don’t care.  I want to start my future right now; I’m sick of not being in control, not making my own decisions.  My friend Sarah, who is the richest, most spoiled girl I’ve ever met, took one look at the card and said, “Oh, it doesn’t have your dad’s name on it.”  I was like, no, it doesn’t.  That’s what I’m excited about. 

And she just went, “Well where’s the fun in that?”  It’s as if she doesn’t even understand the awesome power of independence.  My mom also gave me a call and warned me off over spending with this massive speech about debt consolidation and online payday loans, and I have no idea what any of it means, but I suppose the theme is “don’t spend too much money.”  It’s ok that she’s worried, but I won’t be falling into any of those every day traps.  I am on the track to adulthood, and it’s fabulous.
