Baseball. I love baseball! In fact, I love baseball so much that I moved to Florida just so I could be close to the spring training facilities and catch all of the warm up games.

Given my love of this game, it was no surprise that I would soon become an afficiando for the Florida drug treatment centers that many of the baseball stars would attend in the off season.

As a fan, and as a compassionate human being, I totally understand that there are times in life when we need help outside of our own sphere of influence. Many of these ball players are suddenly thrust into the spot light. They now have a ton of disposable income, and many of them have the added pressures of being responsible for immediate and extended families.

With salaries constantly on the rise, team ownership looking for the next big star to draw in the fans, it is not an uncommon sight to read a headline or two each week about a player being released from a Florida drug rehab center.

Unfortunately, not all of these programs have 100% success, but it does seem that the ones in Florida tend to help the players more than those found further away.
