I understand that nobody really enjoys going to the dentist. But as for me, I really have a problem with the whole idea. Although I don’t think that it would be considered a phobia, it is probably pretty close. Seriously, as I write this I am actually hearing the whirring of that crazy high pitched drill and it is making me cringe. Ugh, and now my gums are feeling it because all I can think about is that crazy long needle that is like a foot and a half long that got jammed what felt like six inches into my gums the last time I went to the dentist.

So you can bet your bottom dollar that I was all ears when one of my closest friends told me about the San Jose dentist that he goes to who goes about things in a slightly different way. This latest trend in modern dentistry for big wimps like me is called sedation dentistry. I mean, it just sounds like a comfortable dental care alternative to me! Imagine the possibilities. Before they even fire up that crazy drill which I am suddenly hearing in my head again, they conk you out. You get to sleep right through all of the icky stuff, and when you wake up, it is all done!
