Keeping the Bar Hidden from the Kids
Dec 25, 2008
When the Larson’s teenage daughter, Lacy, had friends over, they would always have to close the room with the home bars so the kids wouldn’t get to the alcohol. Casey and Trevor were strong opponents to having kids drinking in their home. It was never a good idea for kids to drink liquor. They could never moderate it and any time they’d seen it happen, there would be kids all over passed out in the beds. Not only was it wrong, but the reports about teen drinking were quite unnerving as well.
The summer Lacy turned 16, her parents bought her a twin bed. It probably wasn’t the most exciting gift she could have ever expected, but it was nice and comfortable. That was when the girl started spending more nights at home. Kids her age usually didn’t do that, but the Larson’s kind of felt relieved. Maybe the bed was so comfortable that she just preferred to be indoors and in the comfort of her own room.
Several months later, they realized, a draft was coming through her door because Lacy had forgot to close the window on the outside. The plumped up bedding was just filled with pillows.
