If only we could have just plugged “Jeb” into the search engine and found him instead of putting in “fly fishing guide GA” and “fishing in ga” and sifting through the endless dead ends. There are some great fishing guides out there, and if we had actually read them instead of burning them, we would have been in good shape.  Either way, they’re way better than just looking up stuff on the internet.

To this day, I have never had such a relaxing time as I did on Jeb’s boat.

Now, I admit it could have been bad.  At times Jeb said some of the craziest, sometimes most inappropriate and ignorant stuff I’ve ever heard, and usually that kind of stuff bothers me, but then and there, I, for one, didn’t care, and I don’t think Dave did either.  We are from a different part of the country and for all we know, what WE said may have been offending HIM.  That’s the beauty of being in a different part of the country; you learn a new culture, even when you’re still in your own country!

When it came, we just let it pass until we got back to a civil conversation about football, city life versus country life, women and general “whatnot.”

When we decided to go get a taste of the country, we didn’t make the decision with any expectations of an epiphany or getting to the roots of creation, but we unexpectedly stumbled across both.

I used to fancy my city life as the only way to really live life, but after a couple days out in the wilderness and a day on the lake with Jeb and his southern country hospitality, and I can’t help but wonder what it would be like to live the simple life-no worries, no proverbial Georgia fly fishing guides, plenty of moonshine…

Maybe one day.
